Alan Witt, Ph.D. in Industrial-Organizational Psychology, is a Professor at the University of Houston (Texas, USA). He holds joint appointments in the Hobby School of Public Affairs (where he is also an Associate Dean), the Bauer College of Business (Department of Management and Leadership), and the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences (Department of Psychology). Alan teaches leadership in the Master of Public Policy, Master of Public Affairs, and Executive Master of Business programs and supervises Ph.D. students in industrial-organizational psychology.He was named a fellow of the Society of Industrial and Organizational Psychology and the American Psychological Association and is an invited member of the Society of Organizational Behavior. As an undergraduate public policy major, Alan interned at the Executive Office of the President (the White House) in Washington, D.C. In addition to his academic career, Alan served as a manager (for research) in the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration and as a corporate human resources director in the financial services sector.
